Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I get the answers?

The answers are made available on the archive page after the puzzle has expired.
Otherwise, you should email me or contact me on IRC.

I believe you have made a mistake! What should I do?

Whoops! These thing happen.
Our crack team of puzzle ninjas go over the questions very carefully before we submit them, but unfortunately our ninjas get sidetracked very easily and mistakes can slip by them.
You should email me or contact me on IRC with the details, including your workings out.

I have a comment/suggestion/question/or other need to contact you. Can I do so?

Please do! Just be aware that I live in Victoria, Australia. The timezone here is currently GMT+11(curse you daylight savings, curse you!), and I may be asleep/at the pub when you try to contact me. For this reason you're best off going on IRC as there are people from several other timezones there who may be able to help you.

Your puzzles are really easy, why is that?

After the first puzzle I received a lot of emails and comments on IRC in which people told me how much they like puzzles that they can actually do without too much difficulty. I decided that I would stick with simple puzzles from that point.
However I am eventually going to add secondary puzzles each week (if possible) which are substantially harder. These will be available only after the completion of the first puzzle of that week, and these puzzles will have their own winners lists.

Your newest puzzle is late! ZOMG!!1

Sorry, sometimes I have to work. Shocking really.

Why is the site so ugly?

Well, I can't be bothered making it pretty to be honest. I'd rather focus on functionality first and worry about making it look good later.
Besides, I actually like the minimalist approach.
If you have any suggestions though I would be happy to discuss them with you.

Who makes these puzzles?

The first puzzle was sent to me in an email, and I have no idea who to credit. The answer unlocked an attached Excel spreadsheet containing a list of the people who had completed it before me . It then suggested you forward the email on (after adding your name) to some others who you think should have a crack at it. I immediately took a dislike to the idea, as there would be thousands and thousands of separate lists, each one created every time someone forwarded the thing. So I decided to stick it on a site and have one list. Much nicer.
Other than that first puzzle, my friends and I write them. If you would like to have a try at writing one, do so and send it to me. If I like it I will stick it on the site, though I make no promises. I will credit you at the top of the puzzle if I select it.

So who are you?

My name is David.
I am 28 years old.
I live in Mentone, Victoria, Australia.
I like computers.
I like beer.
I have a kitty and her name is Bee. =^.^= mew mew >:3

Besides these intriguing facts I am known on the internet as "Lo Pan" and "sbobz". I'm a sysadmin who has a bit too much time on his hands and infrequently makes odd sites, such as this one.
